- Trim Loose Yarns: Occasionally, loose or stray yarns may appear. Do not pull them out. Instead, carefully trim them with scissors so they are level with the rug pile.
- Clean Spills Promptly: Blot spills immediately using a clean, dry white cloth or towel—never rub the stain. For spot cleaning, use a mild dye-free detergent mixed with cold water. Gently blot and dry the area with a clean towel.
- Use Furniture Pads: Place protective pads under heavy furniture to prevent pressure marks and maintain the rug’s texture and pile.
- Professional Cleaning: For long-term care, have your rug professionally cleaned once a year to maintain its beauty and durability.
- Hand-knotted rugs with a sheared pile may shed slightly at first, which is normal. Use a low vacuum setting with the standard floor head, and avoid rotating or beater brushes to protect the fibers and edges.
- Rotate Periodically & Limit Sun Exposure: Rotate your rug every few months to ensure even wear. If placed in a bright area, rotating also helps prevent uneven fading caused by direct sunlight.
